Patient Testimonials:
We started seeing Dr. Deborah
Adams in August 2004, after my son, Kai, was diagnosed with
torticollis and plagiocephaly. We noticed when he was about
three and half months old that it seemed his head was
flattening out on one side. His pediatrician, a naturopath,
suggested we take him to a cranial facial physician. The
doctor tested him and showed us how he could not turn his head
to the left, we never noticed this before. He apparently
developed this while in the womb, due to his large size his
neck got “stuck” in a particular position and so the muscles
on his neck grew shorter and tighter on one side than the
other. This effected the shape of his head by causing him to
always sleep with his head turned to the right and the muscles
actually worked at pulling the cranium out of shape. The
cranial facial doctor suggested physical therapy to help with
neck movement and if we wanted we could’ve had him fit with
helmet to wear 24 hours a day for 4-6 months to reshape his
had, with no guarantee That his head would reshape. We did
not want our baby to have to wear the helmet so we discussed
the options with our naturopath and she suggested we try
chiropratic in addition to the physical therapy and referred
us to Dr. Deb. We started seeing Dr. Deb three times a week
and the difference it has made to our family has been amazing.
Kai’s first adjustment was honestly a little scary, it sounded
like his neck exploded but his neck has gradually been getting
stronger and now his adjustments are very small and holding
for longer periods of time. The most noticeable difference is
now he has full range of motion in his neck, more than I do!
Even his physical therapist, who worked with other babies with
his condition, was very impressed with how much and how
quickly his neck improved. I think cranial facial physicians
should always suggest chiropractic treatment for babies with
torticollis. Also, now that Kai’s neck vertebre and
muscles are how they should be, his head shape is also
improving, so much that people often can’t even tell there’s
any assymetry even if we point it out. In addition to
helping Kai, Dr. Deb has also been adjusting myself and my 3
year old son, Logan, and our health has been improving also.
We get fewer and milder colds and no flus. Over the years I
have had frequent shoulder, back and wrist pain and I’ve had
almost 100% improvement in these areas since seeing Dr. Deb.
We are very grateful for the
health Dr. Deb has given us and highly recommend Chiropractic
care to all people seeking overall health improvement and
especially for children with torticollis.

Dear Dr. Deborah,
I am so thankful for the
miracles you have provided for me, I want to share my
experience with others with the expectation that it can help
them if they are considering chiropractic services. I strongly
recommend your services based on the following experiences:
For eight months, I had been
experiencing numbness in the fingers of my right hand. Then I
noticed that my legs were feeling weak, and I really began to
worry. I consulted a doctor who advised that all this was a
normal part of aging, but I was only 56 years of age. I
couldn’t understand why I was having those discomforts, and
could not accept them as part of the aging process, but I had
no basis to argue with the doctor, who was considered
competent.
Then one Sunday morning I took
a walk, and I’ll never forget how that changed my life. I
noticed a number of white tents set up at Marina Park.
Curious, I walked among the tents, and for the first time in
my life I met a Chiropractor, Deborah Adams. We talked about
my numbness and weakness problems for a while. When we said
good bye, I left the park with my heart full of hope!
The next day I came to the
office and went through x-rays, examination and began
treatments. After just one week, the numbness was gone. After
a few months, I was a new person, full of energy, strong and
thankful for my good health. In the belief that I was cured
and no longer needed treatments, I stopped coming to the
office.
About a year after I stopped
treatments, I experienced severe neck and arm and back pain
from a work related injury, and it brought me back into your
capable hands. Soon, these problems were resolved by your
treatments, another success story.
The most amazing miracle was
what you did for my granddaughter. After hearing about her
chronic ear infections that had gone on regularly for 3 years,
you asked that I bring her in. I must admit I was somewhat
skeptical, but I brought her in anyway. Since your treatments,
she has gone 4 years with no ear infection. That is truly
amazing!

Without you, Dr. Deborah, I
couldn’t have danced all night at the Brazilian Carnival.
Thank you again for all your
help.
Sincerely,
Regina Leite |
This is a letter of
recommendation and thanks for Kirkland Life Chiropractic. My
daughter Alyssa is 10 years old and plays fast pitch softball.
She plays second base, catcher and pitcher. With her regular
practices and playing 6 to 8 games per week she is in good
physical condition, but she started having back pain. Her
pitching and hitting Coach, who played college softball,
recommended Dr Deborah at Kirkland life Chiropractic. We
called Dr Deborah and she fit Alyssa in immediately, and
scheduled us in on a Saturday morning. She gave Alyssa the
full treatment, x-rays, muscle testing and range of motion
testing. After her evaluation of Alyssa’s condition, she
started gently making adjustments and guided her through some
exercises. Within a month, Alyssa was pain free and back at
the sport she loves. It has been 6 months since my daughter
was having back pain and unable to play hard at her sport. She
has continued with regular maintenance adjustments and
exercises, and she is doing great!! I certainly recommend
Kirkland Life Chiropractic and the program they run to help
people remain healthy and pain free.

P.S. I started getting adjusted a few months ago
myself!?

Chiropractic Care and Nutrition gives my body new life.
Through 3 years of High School and 6 years of Collage, I majored in snowboarding and ‘minored’ in Engineering. In the early 90’s, my body took a real beating because the rocky mountains typically had bad snow conditions (i.e. icy, flat landings,) and poorly designed jumps. Despite no coaching, and no home training ground, I and my brother earned national rankings 3 years in a row.
After graduating from College and having massive school debt to start paying off, I quit competing and got a desk job. Just a few short years later, the effects of 8 years of competition and a college kid’s diet began to take hold. I couldn’t even bike short distances, without my knees killing me. After just an hour or so in a chair, my back would start sending spikes of pain radiating out from between my shoulder blades. And athletically I was going down-hill fast. Even my motivation for life was negatively effected, in spite of striving for some spiritual growth.
In 2002, I began my journey of better nutrition, and started to noticed significant increase in energy, and much less pain in my joints throughout my body. So in 2003, I started dreaming of competition again, only this time at the professional level. However, my back pain persisted in spite of excellent nutrition and a reasonably good workout routine. So when I finally got fed up with the pain, I called up my grandfather, Dr. David Simons*, a world renowned expert on muscular-skeletal pain, to get his advice. Based on my description of my symptoms, he suggested I find a really good Chiropractor to see if they could help. By divine intervention, I happened to see a flyer about Dr. Mark Fredrick, which told his story of how he became a Doctor of Chiropractic. I was so impressed by his attitude, that I scheduled an appointment at his clinic. I appreciated their philosophy of how the body works, and their method of educating the patient in how Chiropractic works and why.
After two weeks of intensive care at Dr. Mark’s clinic, it became clear to me that my brain/body connection had been radically improved and I just needed to retrain myself to take advantage of that new faster connection. Sure enough, one month later, I was performing tricks on my snowboard that I had previously only dreamed of, and in 2003 and 2004 I finally realized my dream of competing at the professional level in Snowboarding.
Over the last four years, I have experienced the excellent care of four different clinics because I keep changing where I live and work. First was Mark’s clinic at Woodway-Chiro, Lynnwood WA, where my initial dysfunctions were corrected. Then I was able to drastically improve the curvature of my neck and overall posture while under the care Dr. Deborah Adam’s team at Kirkland Life Chiro, Kirkland WA. And most recently I am receiving excellent maintenance care from Drs David and Shay at Doyle Chiro in Bothell, WA and Dr. Carrie Stiver at Reconnection-Chiro in Seattle WA.
I would need a lot less maintenance adjustments if I didn’t have a hard-core desk/computer job all day. About once a month the negative cumulative effect of sitting for long periods does need to be reversed through periodic adjustments and body-work.
But despite the negative effects of my job, I have still been able to make excellent progress in my new athletic pursuit of gymnastics, which I have begun at the young age of 33 years. Because of the vast improvement of my spine’s health, and a foundation of excellent nutrition, I have achieved a few mile-stones in less then a year of part-time gymnastics practice: Most recently the layout back-flip with full-twist on the trampoline, and the standing-back-tuck-flip on the floor.
On snow, I have finally conquered the Rodeo Flip and Back-side-720-spins, thereby allowing me to pursue my dream of being one of the Northwest’s top Freestyle Coaches in order to help many other kids realize their own snowboard dreams. Oh, and one last side benefit of the combination of nutrition, chiropractic care, and exercise: I haven’t been sick in over 4 years now!!
Now my passion is to help other’s enjoy similar good health for a lifetime. The lesson in this story is that Dreams do come true, when you give your body a real chance to heal itself and develop the way God intended it to work!!

Why I Go To The Chiropractor
By Danielle Vavra
I go to the chiropractor because, being a gymnast, I need to have good alignment, good posture, and be flexible.
I work out at the gym for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, and that takes a toll on my body. All the running, jumping, swinging and leaping is hard on my wrists, knees, and ankles. Recently I sprained my wrist, and if I hadn’t gotten adjusted frequently, I would have been out for at least another week.
Being a gymnast for 8 years now, I have developed tendonitis in both of my knees. I have numerous people tell me that if I hadn’t been seeing a chiropractor I would have had to drop out years ago. I have to go in at least twice a week for my knees, and if I don’t, they start to hurt so badly it hurts to walk.
So, chiropractic plays a large roll in my gymnastics career. Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. And tomorrow, when I’m too old for gymnastics, my body won’t be too worn out to enjoy life.

I have been feeling much better and am in much better health since getting chiropractic treatment from Kirkland Life Chiropractic.
I have 2 herniated disks in my lower back, and life was so miserable, that I had to constantly taking Advil and even stronger anti-inflammatory/ pain killers daily. My back doctor already gave me two cortisone injections and he suggested that I take another one to relieve the pain. I also had to go to a physical therapist at least twice a week.
But, then, a coworker told me about Dr. Adams. I came to see her and had my first chiropractic adjustment. After three months of treatment, I could feel the benefits; my back pain was more tolerable, I didn’t have to take the third injection of cortisone, and took less pain killers. That alone saved me thousands of dollars.
Now after more than a couple of years, my health is much better now. I hardly take pain killers now. Thanks Dr. Deborah.

I have had “back problems” for over 10 years due to sports related injuries. I had tried massage and acupuncture and was constantly cracking my own neck and back to try and relieve the pain. By the time of my first appointment with Kirkland Life Chiropractic, I had had a constant headache that had lasted over a month. I was depressed and irritable and couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t get comfortable, so I was always exhausted. I pretty much dropped out of sight at my gym and could barely keep up with my busy travel schedule at work.
After the first couple of adjustments, the headache went away completely and has not returned. I sleep like a rock now and have a lot of my energy back. I have gotten back into the physical activities I used to enjoy and am back to a regular schedule at the gym. I’ve noticed that I don’t need to do my routine twists and turns to crack all the tense places in my back and neck that I used to do without even noticing. I seem to bounce back easier from jet lag, late nights, and the random cold. I just feel batter (and am a lot more pleasant to be around) in general thanks to the care I’ve been receiving at Kirkland Life Chiropractic.

How Chiropractic Changed my Life…
Can one just ever “mind your own business” while driving in Seattle traffic? Not really. Even when I try, I still end up on the backend of someone’s bumper or someone else hitching on mine for a tow. Two accidents later and multiple “traditional” doctors later, I was open to exploring other options, even charms or spells. Anything to get rid of the back pain. And then someone not so close to me suggested chiropractic.
“voodoo medicine.” That’s what I thought about chiropractic care. I was open to charms and spells but certainly not voodoo. Chiropractic was that mystical art where they made you lay on a table, put your face down in what was closely related to a cushioned toilet bowl seat and then some 300 pound hairy guy jumped on your back, twisted your leg around your head, pulled you up off the table, gave you a pat on the back (that required you to seek another visit to fix the damage) and congratulated you on seeking “the finest care in the world.” No way, not me.
So, my wife went. And began to have tremendous results. How could she possibly be having results when the appointment only lasted, maybe, 10 minutes? Didn’t she know that the cure was actually waiting endless hours at the doctor’s clinic? This waiting sends a trigger in your brain that sends the person a message that no pain is worse than this endless waiting (except maybe watching endless hours of Lawrence Welk) and this, one is cured. But she swore she was having improvement.
So, I went. And I actually became educated to the fact that chiropractic is juts a form of healthcare without drugs or surgery. I was definitely going to miss those muscle relaxers! However, what I found, despite not having the drugs, is that after a month or so, I was able to sit through a movie without pain or discomfort. The nightly routine with the heat and ice packs began to disappear and I could actually rough-house and play “horse” with the nephews without suffering the next day.
This “voodoo medicine,” which is actually the third largest doctoral-level health care profession after medical and dentistry, was doing that the more “traditional” doctors couldn’t do: give me long term relief. It seems that more and more people, over 30 million people last year alone, are finding that chiropractic care is the answer.
So how did it change my life? I’m no longer a skeptic.

My three children and I have been seeing Dr. Deborah for just over two and a half years. I am free of the migraines that have troubled me for ever 10 years! My children are free of ear infections and other childhood aches and pains. One of my children has vision challenges- chiropractic relieves the pain he accumulates in his neck and head due to eye strain. We are all free from antibiotics now and have been since coming to this clinic. Chiropractic has changed our lives- just ask our pediatrician and my internal medicine doctor. I recently took my daughter in for her yearly well-check. My pediatrician said “Where have you guys been? This has been the worst flu/cold season. I’ve seen other patients 2-3 times more than usual and I haven’t seen you at all. What have you been doing to stay so healthy?” When I told her “Chiropractic” she said, “Well, keep it up. It’s certainly working!”
Truly, I can’t believe we were once without the knowledge of all chiropractic can do. It’s such a part of our life now and contributes to our health and overall well being in such an amazing way!

How Chiropractic Care Has Changed My Life
I have never taken a moment to look back and see what has changed. I woke up three years ago unable to turn my head. That was my defining moment when I knew that I had to heal the problem, not just the symptoms, especially at age 29.
When I started at KLC, I had a seven degree neck curve. Now through adjustments and traction I am at twenty-six and climbing. My sore throats have disappeared, almost completely, and I no longer wake up in pain. I still the occasional bouts of sinusitis but my body is healing them. I no longer take antibiotics or other medicine unless absolutely necessary. I have discovered that self healing works for me.
Once you grasp the concept that your body is your most precious resource you start to treat yourself better. I have added so many positives aside from chiropractic care- massage therapy, daily exercise, better nutrition. I have learned the importance of finding peace and serenity.
